100 years ago: Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Gomez of Rico were in the city overnight. The couple left on the Eastern the morning after and headed for Antonito in the San Luis Valley, where they would visit relatives of Mrs. Gomez.
75 years ago: H.J. Rudy, president of the Durango Savings and Building Association, and Tom Eggleston, secretary, left the city to attend a homebuilding convention with loan association officials in Denver.
50 years ago: Graden Weinland, who was “stricken with a coronary thrombosis,” was said to be improving, according to Mrs. Weinland, his wife.
25 years ago: Someone stole all the hood ornaments off of new Durango Police Department cars that were being stored at the Morehart used car lot, 760 East Second Ave.
