100 years ago: Rosendo Martinez, one of the well-known sheep men of La Plata, New Mexico, was in Durango overnight on business.

75 years ago: Hearings for an increase in electric power rates, requested by the Western Colorado Power Co., were concluded at Montrose, according to local officials of the La Plata Electric Association.

50 years ago: Two thefts, one break-in and an alleged attempt to steal a car were reported to Durango Police Department the weekend before.

25 years ago: A 19-year-old woman was taken to La Plata County Jail for possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.

Feb. 15

100 years ago: John Nelson of Mancos arrived in Durango. He planned to be in the city for several days while he looked after land business.

75 years ago: Mr. and Mrs. A. Vintland of Bayfield left to spend a couple months with their son Paul in Glendale, California.

50 years ago: The Mancos Bluejays ended its regular basketball season with a 53-50 victory over the Dolores Bears.

25 years ago: Frozen food was reported stolen from a freezer in a carport in the 1800 block of Forest Avenue.
