75 years ago: In “Is This You?” for the week, The Durango News asked a man in a gray suit with no overcoat who was with his lady friend at the post office if he recognized himself. The last week’s winner would have been James McGue, had he recognized himself.

50 years ago: Applicants were being sought for the Sheriff’s Posse Queen contest in Durango.

25 years ago: A 50-year-old woman reported to police that she just swallowed more than 50 pills. She was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
