75 years ago: Harry Walker, assistant publicity director for the Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad, scheduled a “rail tour” to Durango from Denver, “to better acquaint himself with the scenic wonders of southwestern Colorado.”
50 years ago: President of the Southwest Colorado Mental Health Board asked the La Plata County Commissioners to consider devoting additional care for county psychiatric cases. The board said they would “take the matter under advisement.”
25 years ago: Someone reported a drunk female who was lying on the lawn in front of Durango Public Library, but police discovered she was simply waiting for her husband.
