75 years ago: The Durango Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey that showed 24 local businesses were forced to shut down, from Jan. 1 to May 1, 1942, because of the nation’s war program.
50 years ago: Mesa Verde National Park recorded a total of 10,414 visitors for the month of April.
