100 years ago: Mrs. Annie C. Wigglesworth, “widow of the engineer who located this division of the D&RG,” returned to her ranch after “visiting a few of her many friends in Durango.”

75 years ago: All elementary teachers in La Plata County were required to attend a meeting at the courthouse to discuss preparation for the sugar ration registration scheduled later in the month.

50 years ago: Fort Lewis College announced the addition of a medical technology program to the regular curriculum, which would give students the opportunity to graduate with a Bachelor of Science and a certificate in medical technology.

25 years ago: A housekeeper discovered two boys and two girls in bed together at the Comfort Inn, 2930 Main Ave., in a room that had not been reserved. Police cited all four for trespassing and underage possession of alcohol.
