75 years ago: The County Council of Home Demonstration Clubs met at the home of Miss Charlene Tresner, home demonstration agent in Durango. It was an all-day meeting, attended by the presidents and secretaries of the various clubs in the district.
50 years ago: State Rep. Tommy Neal of Durango publicly announced that statements about the proposed transfer of Fort Lewis College from the State Board of Agriculture to the trustees of state colleges or a new board for universities were “completely inaccurate.”
25 years ago: Colorado Lottery prize winners for September included 20 Durango residents, two Bayfield residents and one Ignacio resident. Amounts ranged from $50 to $1,000.
