100 years ago: “The life of little Cynthia Buck, who was burned by a 24,000 volt charge of electricity two weeks ago today at Rockwood, now seems to be in a fair way to recovery. Dr. Ochsner performed a serious operation, removing the little girl’s left arm and portions of both feet, which were so badly burned as to make their removal necessary.”
75 years ago: “Interesting pictures of the Vallecito dam, taken from the air, are the pride of Francis Will. Hons and Norm Kramer took the pictures. Views of the dam and the lake, from angles north, east, west and south, are included in the collection.”
