75 years ago: Six local rodeo performers from the Spanish Trails Fiesta program were recognized among the most talented riders at the Spanish Trails rodeo of Durango. All of them placed high in various competitions.
50 Years Ago: Three skiers won medals at the weekly handicap ski race at Purgatory. Race officials reported to have set a “more reasonable course” for participants after it was moved to the Divine Comedy run.
25 years ago: A 14-year-old boy was arrested for burglary and submitted to Youth Advocate after stealing from the Earthen Vessel, 835 Main Ave. In contrast, an 18-year-old male was caught trying to steal a pack of cigarettes worth less than two dollars at City Market, 6 Town Plaza. He was charged with shoplifting.
