50 years ago: Tragedy struck the family of Joe Michael Albo, a 3-year-old boy, who crawled into an old ice box and suffocated. He was found dead on arrival by Durango Fire Department respondents.
25 years ago: A La Plata County Building Department employee unearthed a human skeleton while he was digging a ditch near Marvel. The remains were found on Southern Ute land, which required a federal investigation.
