100 years ago: H.T. Henry was in Durango from Hesperus to get supplies. He said, “if a man can’t take a joke he at least ought to make a special effort to become a human being.”
75 years ago: “Chili” Mack returned to Durango from spending a few months in Texas, Kansas and Wyoming and was looking for work.
50 years ago: Art Neff announced his resignation from the Durango Water Board, which was made effective at a City Council meeting a few days later.
25 years ago: Deputy William Wood was bitten by a dog while helping fire officials extinguish a trash fire at 30616 U.S. Highway 160. He was treated at Mercy and released.
