100 years ago: Wanted advertisements included: “To the sheep man wishing a location for lambing ground and a place to hold sheep during the shipping season, close to Durango, see J.W. Turner, Sec. of the San Juan Exchange.”

75 years ago: Fifty-five men who were registered with the local draft board were called to Pueblo for final examinations. The American Legion and high school band escorted the group to the train depot, after they were entertained at the Masonic hall.

50 years ago: The Durango unit of the Army Reserve returned after two weeks of training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

25 years ago: A 34-year-old man threw a rock through a $70 window at a residence near Main Avenue and 32nd Street.
