In this Feb. 7, 1966, photo “Michael Santistevan of Taos zips through the 32nd gate in the second of two runs on Saturday during the RMD Junior class C Giant Slalom Championship at Purgatory. He was the leader in the field of 43 boys at the halfway mark, but hit a gate and fell during his first run Sunday and finished in a tie for second in the overall standings after four runs.”

75 years ago: “Something or other will be settled this evening at Smiley High gym when Ft. Lewis and Parsons meet.”
