100 years ago: W.B. Morrison of Florida Mesa suffered a “bad stroke of paralysis” during his visit to Dolores. Bill Burrows arrived to help and reported that “Mr. Morrison is pretty bad” with little chance of recovery.
75 years ago: “Businessmen, farmers, children – the average John Q. Public” all joined together to increase the collection of scrap rubber in La Plata County to more than 20 tons.
50 years ago: Recreation and camping facilities opened at Navajo State Park at Arboles. Total visitor-count for the previous year was estimated at 222,000.
25 years ago: Someone called police and asked them remove a bat out of the office of the Days End Motel, 2202 Main Ave.
