75 years ago: “Moody Ramsey, for years mine foreman for the St. Louis company at Rico, was in Durango yesterday and today. Ramsey, during his long years of residence in Rico, became the central figure in a number of stories. On one occasion he escaped a snowslide by splashing down the Dolores River in mid-winter.”
50 years ago: “La Plata County commissioners on Thursday said they “tentatively have awarded the contract for construction of a livestock pavilion at the county fairgrounds to S&F Building Services of Grand Junction on a bid of $62,353.77.”
