This is one of them – Chamber of Commerce Manager Mike Valentine and secretary Marie Donaldson moved their equipment out onto the patio in the sunlight, to address Christmas cards of all things, with the decorator’s Santa looking over their shoulders, Marie was wearing sunglasses and Valentie has his shirt sleeves rolled up. And all on Dec. 18.”

100 years ago: “The Durango Pressed Brick Company’s residence and office building, at the yard on the Lightener Creek, are to be painted and beautified.”

50 years ago: “The Tuesday meeting of Preceptor Mu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was a birthday party at the home of Mrs. Francis Davis.”

25 years ago: “The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is celebrating its 110th anniversary in May with some help from students.”
