In this Feb. 21 1966 photo “Jim Taucher (white, 51), Durango’s 6-5 sophomore pivot man, goes high above everyone else to haul down a rebound against Moab Red Devils Saturday night in the Miller junior high gym. Looking up at the action are Moab’s Kngiht (51) and Mac McLean (45) while partially hidden behind McLean is Kemp Letts of the Demons. Durango won the contest 73-67 to clinch a break-even season. The Demons are now 9-7 and will close out the season with a pair of home games this weekend against Montrose and Delta.”
