75 years ago: “Luncheon was served at the home of Mrs. F.B. Emigh, who presided over three tables of bridge at an attractive party. The hostess chose a dainty color scheme of pink, lavender and green for her party, artistically carrying out her motif, with the aid of fragrant spring flowers in her menu and bridge flavors.”
50 years ago: “The first shipment of equipment to be used in the actual construction of the chairlift for the Durango Ski Corporation arrived in Durango. Huge pipes will be used in the construction of towers to suspend the double chairlift. The towers will be embedded in cement.”
25 years ago: “A shelter for the homeless in Durango is moving closer to reality and is expected to be open before next winter. Southwest Community Resources has been awarded $56,000 from the Colorado Division of Housing for the construction of a homeless shelter.”
