75 years ago: “Former President Herbert Hoover will be heard over the blue network of the National Broadcasting Company, in a radio address upon the subject, ‘National Defense.’ We don’t know what Hoover will say.”

50 years ago: “The headquarters of the San Juan National Forest had only sold 10 of its $7 conservation stickers. These stickers will be required beginning June 1 on all cars making unlimited use of national parks and forests. Headquarters expect business to pick up next week as soon as families learn the charges expected of each individual for single visits.”

25 years ago: Ignacio High School graduated 48 students, and Bayfield High School graduated 37.
