Music will be furnished at night by the coyotes band, and all good miners are expected to come to town and help celebrate.”
75 years ago: “Such weather! The sidewalks are warm enough to fry eggs, and it gets hot enough in a locked car to roast a pig. For a welcome change, we’d like to have it wet enough to drown a duck.”
50 years ago: “The Rocky Mountain West’s year-round education college – Fort Lewis College – registered 26 percent more persons in its third and final spring trimester of the 1963-64 academic year than for a like period a year ago, and once again, has well over a third of its eligible students going the year around.”
