She celebrates her first birthday Saturday. Debbie has been on this earth for four years. But she had the great bad fortune – or good fortune, depending on how you look at it – to be born on Feb. 29. Her birthday is to be a gala occasion in the Thompson household.”
25 years ago: “Durango’s Mike Elliot won the 40-49 age group for the 30k and 15k cross-country ski races of the National Masters Championships at Telemark, Wis. He won the 30k classical race in 1 hour, 38 minutes, 28 seconds, and his time in the 15k was 42:15.”
