50 years ago: This appeared in the section called Silverton News: “Water pressure remains very low. Persons who have water at all feel fortunate. Many sewer pipes are frozen, also.”
25 years ago: “Out-of-control grass fires over the weekend once again taxed Animas Fire Protection District resources, and one elderly woman was admitted to the hospital with exhaustion after attempting to contain a fire herself.”
