100 years ago: “C. Jeffries, of Animas Valley, was in the city with Thanksgiving cheer in the way of turkeys for the local markets.”

75 years ago: “A big turkey dinner was held at the Animas Grange Hall with an attendance of 250 reported.”

50 years ago: “Durango High School students will take home machine-graded report cards at the end of the current six-weeks period. The new grade reports will be prepared by Cooper and Goodwin, Electronic Data Processing, on IBM equipment. The new grade report will be in the form of a single sheet which contains grades and attendance record.”

25 years ago: “Ryan Woolverton’s toe and Jeff Babcock’s legs lifted Durango High School to a 7-6 win over Adams City in Class 3A football playoff action. ... The win puts the Demons (7-4) into the 3A quarterfinals against Green Mountain (11-0).”
