100 years ago: S.R. Robertson of Denver visited friends and acquaintances in the city.
75 years ago: United States District Judge Symes approved the purchase of four used freight locomotives at a cost of about $150,000 by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad.
50 years ago: Four Corners Magazine, published annually by The Durango Herald, would be released April 21. It was said to be filled with news and features of the Four Corners.
25 years ago: A J.C. Penney’s employee reported to Durango Police Department that a drunken man, who had been asked to leave after he fell asleep underneath some furniture, was in the parking lot trying to open doors of parked cars. Police cited the man for trespassing and took him to detox.
