25 years ago: “Durango ham radio operator Warren Holland has been a vital link in a network dedicated to providing communications to the earthquake-torn San Francisco area. Holland has transmitted more than 20 inquiries from worried friends and relatives in the Rocky Mountain area to the San Francisco area via Colorado Springs. His one response has been from people living south of San Jose who reported that they were fine and suffered no property damage.”
