100 years ago: “Mr. and Mrs. AH Hudson, of Silverton, are spending a two-weeks vacation at the Trimble Hot Springs.”
75 years ago: “Members of the DeMolay Mothers’ Club were delightfully entertained when they were bidden by the Rainbow Mothers to attend a ‘trailer-house’ luncheon. Guests were requested to come to the party dressed for a trailer trip. Masonic Hall, where the novel party was held, was converted into a woodland scene with trees and shrubbery complete even to brook and lakes and mountains in the background.”
50 years ago: “George Bolen barbers in Silverton. But he comes to Durango twice a week to get shaved at the Sanitary barber shop, 937 Main Ave. Bolen is one of today’s rare men who get shaved regularly at a barber shop.”
25 years ago: “Bayfield High School will be setting up a four-period day for the next school year. Bayfield School District Board of Education tentatively approved the new schedule pending input by parents.”
