100 years ago: “Early Sunday morning pack trains from Ouray arrived at Silverton, carrying urgent food necessities and relieved the shortage that was caused by the blockade.”

75 years ago: “Basketball in the San Juan Basin league moved into its final week of play before the tournament here next week with the championship safely tucked under the arm of Silverton, second place in the possession of Dolores, and three possible contenders for third position.”

50 years ago: “A La Plata County District Court jury Wednesday afternoon returned a verdict of guilty for three juveniles charged with assault and battery.”

25 years ago: “In the immortal words of Maxwell Smart, the Fort Lewis Raiders “Missed it by this much,” in a loss to Adam State Friday night.”
