75 years ago: “Fort Lewis folks are busily sprucing up for Fort Lewis day. Yesterday’s rain, too, should settle the dust, brighten the grass and give a boost to the spirits of hosts and guests.”

50 years ago: HESPERUS – “Construction has begun on the radio relay station and tower located north of Hesperus at the top of Hesperus Hill. This station, built and operated by the Long Lines department of the American Telephone and Telegraphy Company, is one of 20 on a route extending from Delta, Utah, to Manzanola, Colorado.”

25 years ago: The Gaslight Twin was showing “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.” The billing read: “New York has a new problem.”
