75 years ago: The former priority preference rating for supplies and machinery was restored to the Shenandoah-Dives mine and the Telluride mines in the San Juan district after it was dropped on March 2 with several other silver and gold mines in the area.
50 years ago: The city street department started maintenance work on Florida Road upon the arrival of warm weather. County commissioners said they had plans to add more oil to the road as soon as a right of way was established.
25 years ago: Someone reported a pigeon that was trapped in Burns Bank, 900 Main Ave. Police successfully coaxed the bird out of the building.
