75 years ago: Five young men “of Uncle Sam’s navy” arrived in Durango for “a short furlough visit prior to returning to their station at Farragut, Idaho, for an assignment.”
50 years ago: Purgatory Ski Area invited people to a showing of the film “Purgatory White Gold” in the Gold Room at the Strater Hotel.
25 years ago: A woman in the 300 block of East Seventh Avenue reported to Durango Police Department that kids next door kept throwing stuff in her yard. When she threw them back to their yard, they would throw even more stuff back in hers. The woman said she put all the items in a paper bag and requested that an officer deliver it to her neighbor’s house.
