100 years ago: Cowmen Dee Brindle of the Pine Valley and C.Y. Cook “from north of town” were in Durango and reported that “the range was fine this year.”

75 years ago: Mrs. J.A. Clark reported for Red Cross Surgical Dressings that 34,200 dressings were finished, which completed a three-month goal for June, July and August ahead of schedule.

50 years ago: In local softball news, “Jack’s Shell dealt State Farm their third straight loss and moved in a three-way tie for second place following their 9-6 win.”

25 years ago: A 17-month-old boy was treated and released at Mercy Medical Center after he fell into a bucket of water and nearly drown at his home on County Road 215.
