50 years ago: The following appeared in the section titled: Girl About Town: “Moss green seems to predominate in carpets and furnishings, says Glenn Seabourn after he and Rex Quinn attended a furniture show in Dallas. Seabourn, of Wallace Furniture, says that oak and ash are the woods most shown and almost every group of furniture displayed a Spanish influence in the design.”
25 years ago: “U.S. Rep. Ben Campbell, D-Ignacio, celebrated National Skiing Day on the slopes at Purgatory Ski Area with a group of eighth-graders from Southwestern Colorado. ‘My district is a skier’s mecca,’ said Campbell, who represents the Western Slope.”
