50 years ago: “A heavier vote than usual marked the morning hours of Election Day. At Park school, Precinct 7, voters were standing in line when the polls opened at 7 a.m. In Precinct 29 at Needham school 70 persons had cast ballots by 8 a.m.”
25 year ago: “The fight over garbage in La Plata County spilled over in district court. Van-Dal Enterprises, represented by the local law firm of Yates & Davies, filed a suit against the La Plata County Board of Commissioners claiming breach of contract. The suit is seeking more than $50,000 in damages; the exact amount would be determined at trail.”
