And The West is History

The caption for this Feb. 24, 1966, photo: “Center of attraction at the Case de Amigos (Santa Rita community house) open house Wednesday evening was a new jukebox. The big instrument, with a good selection of pop tunes and Spanish songs, was lent to the community house. Casa de Amigos will retain half the proceeds. The house was crowded with residents of Santa Rita and other parts of Durango. There were cookies and doughnuts served with coffee for all comers. Far to the back, and behind this cluster of excited kids, is the new musical monster.”
