75 years ago: “According to figures released by the state census director at lest (sic) two San Juan Basin towns showed large increases in population since 1930. Pagosa Springs has 1,889 citizens against its 804 population in 1930. Bayfield’s population in (sic) now 365 while in 1930 Bayfield boasted only 277 peoples.”
50 years ago: “Paula Kay Pargin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Pargin, is salutatorian of the 55-member 1965 graduating class of Ignacio High School. She has participated in FHA, Pep Club, Science Club, Spanish Club, band, in addition to class activities.”
