75 years ago: Tommy Jacques, a half-back on the Durango Demons football team, “cut and slashed his way twice across the Cortez goal line” and helped Durango mark a win against the Panthers during the annual Armistice Day game.

50 years ago: Four young Durango musicians were selected for filming the one-hour television special “Campus Talent ’68” that was sponsored by the Mountain States Telephone Co.

25 years ago: Four head of cattle, including two holsteins and two Brahma crosses, a total value of $3,200, were reported stolen from a ranch on County Road 506.
