They were “already busy working on other plans” and hoped to have a warning system worked out by Dec. 14, which would reach from the smelter to Animas City.
50 years ago: Fort Lewis College journalism students took a tour of The Durango Herald and examined the $8,000 camera, which was used to produce “negatives of each page of the newspaper for reproduction on the offset printing presses.”
