50 Years Ago: Mrs. Lloyd Porter of Durango won the First Pearl award, the highest honor offered by the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International sorority.

25 years ago: The La Plata Board of County Commissioners met to discuss several proposed projects to develop areas on the outskirts of the city limits. One area referenced was the east corridor of 32nd Street.
