75 years ago: “The district attorney filed confidence game charges against Jimmie Jones, erst-while Ignacio town marshal. Bond was fixed at $1,500. Jones is charged with passing a $663 bad check to a Pagosa Springs garage in payment for a car, which he later ran into a ditch.”

50 years ago: “Mrs. Roger Pettinger is called ‘Thumper’ by her family now that she limps and thumps around the house in a leg cast.”

25 years ago: Leta Sauer was retiring from her position as La Plata County Clerk. Her retirement would conclude a 12-year stint as county clerk and nearly 30-year career serving the residents of La Plata County as a staff member and elected official in the clerk’s office.
