25 years ago: “The La Plata County Fairgrounds will be listed in the Colorado Register of Historic Places and has been nominated for a similar designation at the national level. ... The fairgrounds will be designated as a historic district, including the grandstands, caretaker’s house, racetrack and horse stalls along Main Avenue.
