50 years ago: The Durango High School ski team, including 19 boys and 14 girls, “looked like winners” at a Nordic clinic in Summit County.
25 years ago: The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation began final design for the Animas-La Plata water project pumping plant, which would be located on the Animas River across from Gateway Park at the south entrance to Durango.
