You must see these hats to appreciate them. All are of this season’s purchase and include values of $8 and $9. All new and very becoming.”
75 years ago: “Stitching and visiting which form an everlasting affinity, are being enjoyed at the home of Mrs. James Wigglesworth, who is entertaining her sewing club.”
50 years ago: “The La Plata County Cowbelles held their monthly meeting in the Columbine Room of the courthouse with an exceptionally large attendance. Jack Fassett gave a travelog on his three-and-one-half year stay in Japan. He showed movies and slides taken in and around Tokyo.”
25 years go: “Save Our Fairgrounds Association announced that a second structural engineer has looked at the La Plata County Fairgrounds grandstands and will present a report to the county commissioners. Richard Vick of Con/Struct Engineering from Pagosa Springs volunteered his services after hearing the county closed the grandstands based on information from an engineering study.”
