75 years ago: Reports from the state highway office in Durango announced that all highways were still open, despite the 9 inches of snowfall received over the previous two days.

50 years ago: The Miller junior high school winter band concert was canceled “due to illness of so many of the members of the band.”

25 years ago: It was announced that an Albertsons supermarket would open near downtown Durango in 1994, to be in competition with two City Markets and County Market.
