100 years ago: Tony Micheli, a young man from Mancos, departed for Denver after he enlisted for military service.

75 years ago: An improved water system was the main topic of discussion at a Durango City Council meeting.

50 years ago: A water tank slipped out of the bed of a truck and sat alone momentarily in the middle of the intersection of East Main and Ash streets in Cortez until police and its owner arrived. A wrecker eventually was used to hoist the tank back into the truck bed.

25 years ago: Durango police officers took a 25-year-old man to jail after receiving a report that he was hitting people at Southwest Mental Health, 3473 Main Ave.
