Velarde hopped to Silverton after his release. His appearance for trial on the criminal charge of assaulting a little girl is now to be made doubly sure.”

75 YEARS AGO: “Unofficially reported to be the biggest fish caught in the basin this season was a huge 9-pound rainbow on display at the Gardenswartz store yesterday. The fish was caught at Vallecito Dam by 11-year-old Billy Allen on a fly tied by his father.”

50 YEARS AGO: “Morehart Chevrolet’s 1966 Demo Sale is now in full swing: We’ll bet you find your favorite in a fun-loving Corvair, Nova 4-door, Impala Sport Sedan, Monza Sport Sedan, or Malibu Coupe.”
