25 years ago: “Many Purgatory Ski Area employees laid off May 16 are still waiting for their jobs, although a two-week layoff period has been extended another 10 days as negotiations for funding the resort continue. Purgatory laid off about 90 of its 120 employees with the promise that they would be hired back once funding for summer operations was secured.”
