75 years ago: A survey of potential evacuation facilities began throughout the county. Every household was asked for names, house number, how many rooms it had available for temporary shelter and how many people could sleep in each room.

50 years ago: The Durango & Rio Grande Western train was delayed about two hours on its return trip from Silverton because of track damage caused by a rockslide.

25 years ago: Two men, aged 26 and 27, were warned about camping in the 100 block of South Camino del Rio.
