100 years ago: Mrs. J.T. Jacobs arrived from Salida to visit her husband, the Denver and Rio Grande inspector, who suffered two broken ribs from a motor vehicle wreck the previous Sunday.
75 years ago: E.A. Knapp was confined to his home in the Animas Valley as the result of a bronchitis “attack.”
50 Years Ago: New snowfall “snarled” the morning traffic in Durango, causing cars to clog intersections with spinning wheels. Fort Lewis College staff members and students sat in queue at the foot of the hill to campus, “as others already on the hill skidded broadside to the road and blocked those behind them.”
25 years ago: The “pet of the week” featured at La Plata County Humane Society was Corky, 5-month-old terrier mix, and his five sisters. There were several Labrador mixes looking for new homes as well.
