100 years ago: There was an advertisement for kidney pills with a Durango resident quoted, “I had a constant ache just below my kidneys, and if I made a quick move, a sharp, knife-like pain seized me.”

75 years ago: New equipment was being installed and general repairs were made to the workshop of La Plata Motors.

50 Years Ago: Durango High School took first place in all four events at a Vail Invitational ski meet, which blew the rest of the competition out of the snow.

25 years ago: About 30 people voiced their worries over the construction of a gas compressor station near Oxford at the week’s county commissioners’ board meeting. The proposal had been unanimously approved.
