50 Years Ago: The Animas-La Plata Project was announced to be “ready for authorization” and was expected to receive the congressional blessing it needed.

25 years ago: Someone rolled a large tire down Chapman Hill and caused $1,000 in damages. The tire hit a flag pole, park bench and chain-link fence near the 400 block of Florida Road.
